S2T CSR 2: Canossaville to Night Safari
With Chrismas just around the corner, S2T decided to contribute our share of the Christmas spirit...
after weeks of brain-storming, preparation and visits, the committee members (Celestine Ong, David Chua, Esther Lee, Fiona Gee, Grace Tan & Nicole Leong) came up with the idea of inviting the lil' kids from Canossaville Children's Home together with the S2T family to the Night Safari on 19th December 2007....

After the kids & staff settled themselves at Bongo Burger, our MD, Mr Leong gave a short speech...
" Thank you for joining S2T & family this evening for this short outing.. We hope all of you enjoy yourselves tonight.. Please remember that the animals have not taken their dinner, so... please stick together as a group..."

Souvenirs were given out thereafter...

Dinner is served...

During dinner, everyone got to enjoy a Cultural Performance put up by the awe-inspiring Bornean tribal performers - comprising of tribal dances, blowpipe demonstrations and fire-eating displays!!

After dinner, everyone hopped on board the tram for a 45-min tram ride with commentary across a landscape that dramatically changes.
At the Himalayan Foothills, they saw the Himalayan Tahr and Vultures. Animals at the Nepalese River Valley include the Otter, Wolf, Greater Asian Rhino, Jackal and Sambar Deer. The Indian Subcontinent featured the Striped Hyena, Gir Lion and the Sloth Bear. Giraffe, Spotted Hyena and the Hippo were seen as we travelled through Equatorial Africa. This was followed by a journey through the Indo Malayan Region that is home to Hog Deer, Bearded Pig and Tiger. The Tapir, Red Dhole and Asian Elephant comes next at the Asian Riverine Forest.
Laughter & eager chatter of the children could be heard whenever they spotted the night creatures!
Cameras with flash lights were strictly forbidden as they cause stress to the animals and in long run, blindness! Thus explains for the lack of photos on the tram rides... =P
The next programme lined up for the evening was a Creatures Of The Night live performance at the amphitheatre...
Q-ing outside the amphi theatre

it started to drizzle a little.. and the kids opened their ponchos to help shelter their friends & to keep themselves dry..

Gathering for a headcount

Soon... it was time to leave....

but nonetheless, everyone enjoyed!
